Newborn Week Celebration November 2024❖ Newborn week is celebrated in India from 15 November to 21 November every year .

❖ It is intended to raise awareness about the importance of newborn care for child survival and development.

❖ It aims for a safe and healthy future for every newborn . Safety , quality and nurturing care is the birth right of every newborn .

❖ Department of Paediatrics from MGM Medical College and Hospital, Nerul celebrated Newborn Week at MCH Belapur ( NMMC Hospital Belapur) on Friday 22 nd November 2024 from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm .

❖ As part of this celebration HOD Mam Dr. Sunita Jain took the initiative of teaching neonatal resuscitation with practical demonstration by help of equipments required for the same .

❖ The session was attend by the faculty from Paediatrics MGM Nerul - Dr. Kamran Dalwai (Senior Resident) , Dr. Sarah Iqra (Tutor) , Dr. Sourav Das (Tutor), Dr. Betsy Raju (Tutor) and one nursing staff working in MCH Belapur Hospital.

❖ The session was very lively and interactive helping the faculty to build on upon their knowledge in this topic .

❖ Hod mam Dr. Sunita Jain taught about the etiquettes of Labour room , APGAR Scoring and relevance, Ambu Bag sizes and usage , Laryngoscope sizes and usage , Endotracheal Tube sizes and usage , Warmer , Oxygen sources , Drugs used in neonatal resuscitation , protocols of handing baby while delivery , CPR .

❖ A brief but enlightening session was sufficient to boost the interest of our young doctors in this field .
