MGM Medical College, Nerul, has added another feather to its cap with an outstanding performance at the ICTD Quiz 2026, a prestigious national-level competition that witnessed participation from 72 medical colleges across India. The college team secured 1st Position in the Semi-Finals and emerged as the 3rd Runner-Up in the Grand Finale, showcasing exceptional knowledge, teamwork, and academic excellence. The winning team comprised Abha Vasant Agre (2nd MBBS), Khyati Priyadarshini (2nd MBBS), and Mahee Chavan (1st MBBS). This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication of the students, the guidance of the faculty, and the unwavering support of the institution. MGM Medical College congratulates the students and mentors on this proud accomplishment and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors.

MGM Medical College, Nerul enthusiastically celebrated International Yoga Day with active participation from faculty members, students, and staff. The program commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting physical health, mental well-being, and a balanced lifestyle. Participants performed various yoga asanas and breathing exercises under expert guidance, emphasizing the role of yoga in stress management and overall wellness. The event reinforced the message of adopting yoga as a daily practice to achieve harmony of mind and body. The celebration concluded with a pledge to incorporate healthy habits and yoga into everyday life, fostering a culture of fitness and well-being within the institution - 1.

Dr Snehanka Parab and Dr Ankita Patil were invited to speak at the SRCC children hospital Annual conference organised by Narayana health in Mumbai today. Dr Ankita spoke on Current Vision screening Programme in India and Dr Snehanka spoke on Retiopathy of prematurity (ROP). Many congratulations to both Dr Ankita and Dr Snehanka.

The Department of Community Medicine, MGM Medical College, Nerul, is organizing the observance of World No Tobacco Day 2026 on 3rd June 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Reception Area, MGM Hospital, CBD Belapur. The program includes a guest lecture on “Health Hazards of Tobacco” by Dr. Amey Oak, an introduction to the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), skit presentations by NSS MBBS students, and a quiz competition for intern doctors. The event aims to raise awareness regarding the harmful effects of tobacco and encourage collective efforts towards building a tobacco-free future. All teaching faculty and intern doctors are cordially invited to participate and support this important public health initiative.

MGM Medical College, Nerul is launching a new initiative — the Healthy Discussion Forum on Social Issues — for students and faculty to promote awareness, empathy, ethical thinking, and meaningful dialogue on contemporary social issues. Conducted on every 4th Friday of the month, the inaugural discussion will focus on the “Twisha Sharma Case,” highlighting social awareness, mental health, and responsibility. Date, venue, and time will be announced soon.

The Hospital Infection Control Team, MGM CBD Belapur Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Microbiology, MGM Medical College, Nerul, celebrated World Hand Hygiene Day on 5th May 2026 with the theme “Action Saves Lives.” The event witnessed active participation from healthcare workers, nursing staff, ICT members, administration, and faculty. We thank Dr. Mahadik Sir, Dr. Kiran Mail Sir, and all participants for their support in promoting hand hygiene and strengthening efforts towards a hospital free from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

Phase II MBBS students who received research funding from ICMR and MGM were invited to MGM College of Physiotherapy to showcase their research work, making it a proud moment for our institution. Congratulate all the students for making the institution proud.
